Project Description

This project entailed the construction of a new €20 million waste water treatment plant in the town of Kildare and 15km of 525mm ductile iron effluent pipeline which ran to the River Barrow in Kildangan. We built the outfall pipeline, most of which was laid in busy public roads, and utilising temporary traffic management techniques, we maintained the full flow of traffic at all times. All roads had to be fully reinstated and re-opened to traffic after backfilling. For this scheme, we also constructed all of the process Ductile Iron and Concrete drainage pipes around the tanks. KC also completed all bulk earthworks and concrete blinding operations for all of the treatment tanks. The job was satisfactorily completed in line with the client's requirement.

Project Description

This project was initiated so as to bring the town of Bantry, in Cork into line with EU sewerage and water processing legislation. KC Civil Engineering Ltd worked in partnership with The Bowen Group towards the successful delivery of this landmark project. Most of the works were carried out in built up busy roadways along the town of Bantry.

As part of the scheme we constructed 3.5km of PE100 water mains ranging in size from 150mm to 250mm along with 1.5km of 450mm diameter ductile iron water main.

We also provided the rising main to a pumping station and constructed the 1,150m3 cast in situ reinforced concreteresevoir at Cahernacrin. The works also involved laying 2km of spigot and socket concrete drainage pipes ranging in size from 150mm dia to 650mm dia. Towards the tail end of the job we re-connected twenty two houses using horizontal directional drilling trenchless technology.

Project Description

As part of the Siac Construction team, KC Civil Engineering Ltd were involved in the construction of some critical aspects of this contract.

For this scheme KC constructed deep drainage of 1.8m diameter at depths of up to 5m. We also delivered major aspects of the process pipework such as; 2km of 400mm diameter main at 2.00m deep along with as the delivery of various reinforced cast in-situ reinforced concrete tanks. We also built a number of the concrete chambers and manholes for the project.

As part of its long term strategic view Waterford City Council upgraded all of its drainage, water and treatment infrastructural works.

This scheme entailed the construction of new treatment tanks, deep drainage, watermains, cast in situ reinforced concrete cambers and all associated services connections and traffic management.

For the delivery of this scheme, KC Civil Engineering Ltd worked as a specialist civil engineering contractor to Sorenson Construction Ltd. We installed 3.5km of 225mm to 525mm dia spigot & socket sewer pipes in a live environment, 2.5km of 150mm PE100 rising main, and 1.2km of spigot & socket 110mm diameter house connections. For the drainage and water mains, the majority of excavations was on public roads. To safeguard project stakeholders, we designed and implemented a comprehensive system of traffic management.

This project was successfully delivered on time and within budget without and HSEQ incident.
